South Portland plans to release school equity report in mid-April

CEE at MAEC assists South Portland School Departments in Maine to release a school equity report. “Reports like this are really about listening to student voices,” Kunin said. “We know we will hear some things that are uncomfortable but unless we’re willing to listen through that discomfort, we know we will not make progress.”

Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights Launches Comprehensive Review of Title IX Regulations

The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) announced a comprehensive review of the Department’s regulations implementing Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, as part of implementing President Biden’s March 8 Executive Order on Guaranteeing an Educational Environment Free from Discrimination on the Basis of Sex, Including Sexual Orientation or Gender Identity.
