Family-School Partnerships & Financial Literacy
Date of the Event: May 26, 2021 | Leslie Jones and Evelyn Tolliver
The past year has challenged the families we work with in countless ways, especially financially. According to a September NPR poll, “nearly half of American households faced lost jobs or pay cuts during the pandemic,” and “over half, or 54%, of those with household incomes below $100,000 reported serious financial problems.” But even in “normal” times, too many families face financial challenges and have never received any formal financial literacy training.
While policy change is necessary to address the systemic financial inequities in our country, families are still struggling in the here and now. How can we provide practical financial literacy support to families and students? What resources and programs are available?
In this webinar, two financial literacy experts answered those questions and shared strategies and resources to employ when engaging with families and provided financial literacy support.
