MAEC Announced as Region I Equity Assistance Center
The Mid-Atlantic Equity Consortium is excited to announce that we have been named the Region I Equity Assistance Center by the US Department of Education. Region I now includes Connecticut, Delaware, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, Vermont, the Virgin Islands, and West Virginia. As the new Center for Education Equity (CEE), MAEC looks forward to working with WestEd and AIR as we promote diversity and equity in schools.
“Students deserve the opportunity to learn in an environment that provides them with a fair chance to reach their true potential,” said U.S. Secretary of Education John B. King Jr. “The centers provide critical resources to districts and communities to ensure that our most vulnerable students have access to an equitable education.”
