Engaging Latino Parents Using Different Modalities: Publications, Workshops, Webinars, and Twitter
This workshop will show the impact of parent engagement on student achievement and illustrate the result of piloting various tools for successfully engaging parents of ELs. This includes: (1) A social media training program at Barrett Elementary School in Arlington, VA to help Latino parents connect with the school; (2) ¡Adelante! Moving Forward! A Guide to Empower Parents of ELs Advocate for their Children, and (3) technology and other resources used in the PREP program to empower parents, specifically in the Latino community.
