Dr. Schou has served in numerous roles throughout her career including classroom teacher, reading specialist, assistant principal, principal, and Expeditionary Learning Mid-Atlantic Field Director, and adjunct professor at Anne Arundel Community College. Her doctoral study focuses on the role student engagement plays in achievement.
