Family Leader Application for the Interstate Family Engagement Leadership Collaborative

Family Leader Application for the Interstate Family Engagement Leadership Collaborative

We are thrilled to share an exciting opportunity for Maryland and Pennsylvania in support of family engagement in our schools and communities. In January 2019, the United States Department of Education awarded the Mid-Atlantic Equity Consortium (MAEC) the honor of serving as Maryland and Pennsylvania’s Statewide Family Engagement Center, known as the Collaborative Action for Family Engagement (CAFE). Over the past 2 years, CAFE has facilitated a State Advisory Council composed of up to 40 members including early childhood, middle, and high school students, school-, local-, and state-level organizations. Families/family members make up at least 51% of its members.

CAFE is currently recruiting family leaders for our Interstate Family Engagement Leadership Collaborative. This NEW initiative at CAFE ensures that family leaders will help shape the direction of the advisory councils in each state. As a critical partner in the field, we invite you to serve in a leadership capacity on CAFE’s Advisory Board to share your expertise as we work to implement high-impact school, family, and community engagement strategies in Maryland and Pennsylvania.

Beginning in January 2023, CAFE will launch the next phase of our Leadership Collaborative by training 3 family members from both MD and PA to serve as Family Leaders on each respective council. Family leaders will serve for a one-year term. Applicants reside in either Maryland or Pennsylvania to serve as family leaders.
