The Center for Education Equity @ MAEC partnered with the US Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights, Philadelphia, and the Robert M. Bell Center for Civil Rights in Education at Morgan State University to discuss issues surrounding English Learners and equity in school settings. The event, held September 27, 2019, featured Aída Walqui, author of the book, Amplifying the curriculum: Designing quality learning opportunities for English Learners.

Start Your Day Right: Build District Capacity to STOP Racial Harassment and Bullying

The Center for Education Equity @ MAEC partnered with the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights in Philadelphia to host an Equity Breakfast Institute to help schools prevent and respond to racial harassment and bullying. The event, held July 18, 2019 in Philadelphia, PA, featured Dr. Richard Milner, IV, author of Rac(e)ing to Class: Confronting Poverty and Race in Schools and Classrooms.
