Ms. Gong is a successful businesswoman, an accomplished educator, public speaker, human resource administrator/trainer, talk show host, and community leader. Her passion for community involvement and civil rights stems from her over three decades of commitment to the OCA, an Asian American advocacy organization with chapters nationwide, for which she served four terms as its National President. In her current position, Ms. Gong is responsible for community use of public facilities in Montgomery County (MD) and is the host of the weekly talk show series “Ginny’s…where East meets West,” currently in its 17th year. Previously, she served as a human resources administrator responsible for the recruitment, retention, and development of teachers in Montgomery County Public Schools. Ms. Gong served on the Governor’s first Asian American Advisory Committee and the Governor’s Advisory Council on New Americans, serving as its first chairperson. Her published autobiography about growing up in the back of a Chinese laundry, From Ironing Board to Corporate Board: the Chinese Laundry Experience, is widely accredited.
