- Brown v. Board’s legacy and call to ensure access and opportunity for all students is as important as ever. In many states, segregation levels have reached, or even surpassed, those of the mid-20th century. State and district leaders have an opportunity to take an active role in advancing school integration as shifting demographics, policies, and economic conditions continue to shape communities and statewide outcomes.
